Elmer Day at Lewisham Toy Library

Join us at Lewisham Toy Library on Saturday 27th May from 11am - 2pm.

Children are invited to come dressed in their brightest colours and attend activities including storytelling, crafts and games as part of the national Elmer Day celebrations.

Elmer Day started in 2016, Elmer Day is a national celebration of the popular children's book character, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.  On Saturday 27th May, hundreds of events will be taking place in bookshops and libraries across the country.

Created by David McKee, Elmer was first published by Andersen Press in 1989.  Since then, Elmer's iconic patchwork and playful character have made him a firm favourite in millions of households across the world.  Elmer encourages children to accept differences and practice tolerance and kindness.
